According to the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA), around 500,000 of us play disc golf in the United States. With that many people out there, we thought it was time to drop some knowledge for the newbs. Today, let’s answer the question, “What do the numbers on disc golf discs mean?”
Disc golf is for everyone, and there’s no better way to get some exercise while enjoying the fresh air. Now, let’s gain some knowledge.
What Do the Numbers on Disc Golf Discs Mean?
Let’s jump right in and start to answer the question, “what do the numbers on disc golf discs mean?” The short answer is that the numbers indicate several different things that are important to a golfer — the speed, glide, turn, and fade of the disc.
Unlike ball golf, there are several different types of discs used for various purposes. When you’re shopping for discs, you will see drivers, putters, and mid-range fliers on the shelf. Drivers and mid-range discs will usually have number rankings.
Terminology
Before we begin, we’re going to briefly go over a few terms that may be new to some of you.
Stability: describes the disc’s flight path
Understable: a disc that tends to turn right while in flight (with a right-handed backhand throw RHBH)
Stable: the disc’s flight will not turn
Overstable: refers to a disc that will turn left while in flight (with a RHBH throw)
Right-hand backhand throw: the traditional throw used by disc golfers (along with forehand and putting)
Disc Manufacturers and Numbering Systems
Different disc manufacturers use different numbering systems. So, at this point, to answer the question, “What to the numbers on disc gold discs mean?” we’re going to have to break it all down.
The four-number system
For the most part, the majority of the discs you’re going to find will use the four-number system. The numbers are usually printed right on the front of the disc going in order from left to right. They stand for speed, glide, turn, and fade.
Speed
The first number stands for speed and will be anything from 1 to 14. This number indicates the rate at which that disc will fly through the air. The higher the number, the faster the disc.
Before you assume, though, that you should grab the fastest disc, that’s not always the case. High-speed discs can be very hard to control.
Glide
The second number from the left will be a 1 through 7, and it indicates how the disc will glide. Glide is the disc’s ability to maintain height during flight.
If you want a ton of distance from a disc, you want one with a higher glide number. Also, discs with more glide are great for people new to the game. If, however, you’re a seasoned player, a disc with less glide will be more accurate in high-wind situations.
Turn
The third number from the left will be a +1 through -5, and it indicates how much the disc will turn while in flight — it’s also sometimes called high-speed stability (HSS). The turn number is the amount the disc will curve immediately after you let go of it.
Generally speaking, when you throw a disc using a RHBH, a rating of +1 means the disc will immediately veer to the left (overstable). A score of 0 means that the disc is stable and should fly in a straight line. And a disc with a negative number means it will start turning to the right.
A disc with a rating of -3 is going to turn a lot more than a disc with a score of -1. Discs rated -3 to -5 tend to be great rollers. A roller is a disc that will turn 90 degrees in the air and land on its side and roll for more distance — which can be very useful depending on the terrain.
Fade
The fourth number on the disc shows how much it is going to fade — otherwise known as low-speed stability. And the amount will be 0 through 5. Now, while the turn indicates how much the disc rotates when it leaves your hand, the fade is all about what the disc does towards the end of its flight.
As a disc slows towards the end of the flight, it tends to curve back in the opposite direction from which it was going before. A 0 in this box means that this disc will fly in a straight path. However, a rating of 6 will mean that your disc will have quite a hook as it slows.
The Vibram system
The number system Vibram uses on their discs is similar to the four-number system with some tweaks. You still have speed, turn, and fade ratings; however, they are on a different scale.
So, the speed rating on a Vibram disc is how fast in miles per hour (MPH) the disc has to fly to achieve the desired flight path. The turn and fade ratings are both on a scale from 0 to 30. A 0 rating means the disc has no flip or turn, while a 30 rating will give you the sharpest angle possible.
Vibram just added a new feature to its discs. On some of them, you will find the expected flight path, when thrown correctly, of course, engraved right on the back.
The Discraft system
Finally, we are finishing up our long answer to the question, “What do the numbers on disc golf discs mean?” with the Discraft system. If you get a disc from Discraft, it will only have one number rating. This ranking pertains to the stability of the disc, and it ranges from -3 to +3.
A disc with a 0 rating is stable. A disc with a ranking of -1 will be understable and bank slightly to the right while one with a -3 will be more severe. A rating with a positive number will be overstable and bank to the left.
Now Get out There and Crush Some Chains
And there you have it, folks, the answer to the question, “what do the numbers on disc golf discs mean?” Remember, everyone has a different throwing style.
Disc golf discs never behave the same from person to person. As you learn and grow as a golfer, pay attention to the numbers on your favorite discs and how that translates to what’s happening for you.

Are you or your child thinking about playing Lacrosse, and you want to know which are the best lacrosse helmets out there? Well, you are in luck; we know a thing or two about the best lacrosse helmets everyone should be wearing.
Almost every sport wears some type of helmet but making sure you get the correct type for your sport is very important. You, of course, can not wear a baseball helmet while playing lacrosse. Could you imagine being hit with only a baseball helmet on, ouch!
What Are the Best Lacrosse Helmets?
The best lacrosse helmets are made with the correct amount of padding to prevent you from getting a concussion during the game. Each lacrosse helmet is a little different, but they all are made with the same purpose, to protect the player.
These types of helmets are very different from other sports helmets, but a lacrosse helmet is very similar to a hockey helmet. So, it could be easy to get confused about, which is which. The easiest way to tell is the stiffer facemask, and the lacrosse helmet has more padding in the back on the head.
Lacrosse helmet history
Lacrosse first appeared in the Olympics in 1904, but those players did not use helmets. It was not until 1928 that some used helmets in the game.
The first lacrosse helmets were made of leather and were more like a cap than a helmet.
In the 1940s, companies started adding facemasks to the lacrosse leather helmets. Thank goodness in the 1960s, a company started making the helmets out of hard plastic.
Of course, after that, the lacrosse helmet has been improved 100 times over. Now, you can actually protect your head!
Why it is important to wear a helmet
The biggest reason why you should wear a helmet is to help prevent a concussion. Having a concussion is serious business, and it can keep you out of the game. Unfortunately, it could also cause permanent damage.
Another reason for wearing a helmet is to prevent your face from getting hit with the ball. Yeah, that’s pretty painful. It would not be good times.
Once you have the perfect helmet, please remember you do need all the other protective equipment to stay safe while playing lacrosse.
How to pick the best lacrosse helmets
It is very important when buying a lacrosse helmet, you get the right size. You do not want your lacrosse helmet to be too loose, but you also do not want it too tight. Another important thing is your line of sight. You must be able to see in front of you without having to pull the mask back up or down.
Many of the lacrosse helmets have extra straps to help adjust the size. Also, in most of the helmets, you will have extra padding the can be removed if needed.
Please take a moment and check out this YouTube video to see how a lacrosse helmet should look once properly fitted:

If you think skipping lunch will help you lose weight, your thinking is on the wrong track. Skipping lunch can potentially lead to weight gain. When your stomach is empty, your brain lets your cells know to conserve energy — thereby slowing down your metabolism.
Dr. Mark Hyman, MD, author of “The Blood Sugar Solution,” says that eating triggers a process called thermogenesis. This process lets the brain know to activate the metabolic process of turning food into energy.
To keep your metabolism working at the highest efficiency, Dr. Hyman recommends eating small meals every three to four hours. Not only will that keep your metabolism working, but it will also keep your blood sugar levels stable.
Normal blood sugar levels mean your brain is getting the glucose it needs to run efficiently. And you won’t be irritable, tired, fatigued, or hangry.
Another negative of skipping lunch is that you are more likely to hit the vending machine around mid-afternoon. And there’s nothing nutritional or low-calorie in those machines.
So eat your lunch, you, and everyone you work with will be happier.
Pack It or Eat Out?
So, now that we know we shouldn’t skip lunch, we have to decide if we’re going to pack a lunch or eat out.
We don’t have to tell you that it’s more expensive to eat out, but have you ever added up what it does cost to eat out for lunch?
If you eat at a drive-through fast-food restaurant, you’re going to spend about $6. If you go to a national chain and have a sit-down full-service lunch, you’re going to spend about $20.
So, let’s say you do the drive-through for four days and treat yourself once a week. That’s going to total almost $3,000 for the year. Egads! That’s a chunk of change for most of us. And that doesn’t include the gas to drive there.
But the effects on your health could be more costly. Partly because you’re more likely to overeat when dining out and not even realize you’re doing it.
Here’s a good example you’ll recognize. We went out to dinner at our local Mexican restaurant the other night with a friend. And you know the drill, as they seat you, they also seat that big basket of chips and salsa on the table. And they do it for lunch too.
Of course, we immediately started munching those chips and salsa. The three of us mindlessly ate that entire basket of chips while catching up on gossip. Then dinner arrived, a large plate overflowing with yummy food.
A dinner chock full of too many calories, fat, sodium, preservatives, probably some genetically modified foods, and who knows what else.
We don’t need to go any further. Be healthy, save money, and pack your lunch.
What and How to Pack Your Lunch
You can always quickly throw something into your lunch box in the morning. Or you could give a little thought to tomorrow’s lunch before you head to bed.
But even better, think about what you’d like for lunch while you’re grocery shopping for the week. Then set aside about an hour on a Sunday afternoon or evening to pack a week’s worth of healthy lunches and snacks. Seriously, with a little thought and planning, that’s all the time it will take.
If you plan on packing sandwiches, it’s best to prepare them the morning of or the night before. But go ahead and portion everything out on Sunday, so it’s at the ready. Then it will only take you a minute to throw that sandwich together.
And a trick to help keep your bread from getting soggy is to spread a thin layer of low-fat mayo or mustard on both slices of bread.
If you’re going to have lettuce and tomatoes or pickles on your sandwich, pack them separately and place them on your sandwich right before you eat. Do the same with any salads, like tuna or chicken.
Green leafy salads with veggies are always a good idea but don’t mix in the dressing, unless you’re like me and sometimes enjoy a soggy salad. An excellent way to pack a veggie salad is to use a mason jar.
Put your dressing in the jar first, then add some chopped veggies, like tomatoes, celery, peppers, or carrots. Then put in your lettuce, and if you want some croutons, put them in last. Close up the jar and store in the fridge. You can prep a full weeks worth of salads this way.
Leftovers are always an excellent choice, but we’ll address that in a minute.
Unless you pick number 7 on our list of best lunch boxes for men, you’ll need to purchase something to hold the food you’re going to pack. And you’ll want to get some ice packs as well.
If you’re going for convenience, stock up on disposable sandwich and snack bags, although you’ll find reusable bags available too.
Reusable containers will cost less in the long run and are better for the environment. Plus they’ll give you more flexibility in the types of food you can pack, especially if you get containers that are freezer and microwave-safe.
Get a variety of sizes, some large enough for an entree, and some smaller for a veggie side or dessert. And if you like soup or chili on those cold winter days, get an insulated mug.
And don’t forget that snacks, sauces, and dips need containers too. You could spend an entire afternoon online looking at all the possibilities to include in any of our best lunch boxes for men.
Leftovers
I’m fortunate because the man in my life loves leftovers. He’d be perfectly content eating leftovers for lunch every day. But I know he’s not the norm, and I’ll leave it at that.
But just because you or the man in your life doesn’t want to eat tonight’s leftovers for lunch tomorrow, doesn’t mean you can’t pack them for lunch. Portion them out and freeze them in microwave-safe containers.
Next week, pull it out of the freezer the night before, or even in the morning. By lunchtime, it will be ready for the microwave — a nutritional, delicious, healthy meal at no extra cost.
Healthy snack options
Here’s where packing best lunch boxes for men checks all the boxes and shines. Say bye-bye vending machine with your expensive non-healthy goodies.
Fill a small snack container with some almonds or walnuts. Both are chock full of health benefits and will keep the body at peak performance all afternoon.
Some sliced veggies with some low-fat dip or peanut butter make a great afternoon pick-me-up. And don’t forget some fresh fruit. Pack an apple, orange, banana, or put some grapes in one of those snack containers.
If you’re watching your carbs and could use some more protein, roll up a slice or two of roast beef or turkey. Or pack some cheese cubes.

How often do you think to yourself, “I’ve got to eat better,” “I’ve got to get out and exercise more often,” or “I really should be drinking more water”?
Chances are it’s more than you’re comfortable with, and for good reason: Americans work anywhere from 44 to 50 hours per week, leaving us precious little time to cook, shop, exercise, and still maintain relationships with our friends and family.
But every time that little voice in your head chirps an “I oughtta,” you should listen to it, because when you’re the busiest is exactly when you need to consider your health all the more carefully.
If that sounds impossible, don’t worry – there are a few ways to do this.
For one, it’s absolutely crucial to establish a routine. Part of why we don’t fit healthy practices like eating full meals, resting, and exercising is because all we can focus on is what’s on our to-do lists. But by snatching a quick ten or twenty minutes here or there, you can easily fit in a few healthy practices here and there.
You can probably manage it today, but the key is to keep it up. Set aside the 15 minutes after your lunch break for stretching and breathing. Wake up ten minutes earlier to avoid feeling so rushed. Pre-cook meals at the weekend so you don’t leave yourself any excuse to dash out to the nearest fast food joint.
The consequences of overlooking your health and overworking include excess weight, hypertension, stress and depression, exhaustion, and even shortened lifespans.
It may be a little daunting, but you’re going to have to get creative, and you’re going to have to discipline yourself.
Take sleep, for example. One 2018 study found that nearly a third (32.9%) of US Americans got fewer than six hours of sleep per night. Much of that can be attributed to economic conditions, but it’s also important to note that people are pushed, and push themselves, harder than they have for decades. So the next time you feel like you just can’t leave that file for the office the next day or those figures have to be crunched or those materials have to be prepped, just remember this: there’s always tomorrow, and your health comes first.
Try setting yourself an absolute hard deadline for sleep. Chances are you’ll miss it once or twice to begin with, but the more you keep at it, the easier and more natural it will feel, and your body will thank you for it.
Exercises, too, can become a force of habit if you incorporate them into your day. Try standing at work instead of sitting, or do lunges now and then, or take a walk while you make phone calls.
And of course, avoid snacks and too many long evenings on the couch. The biggest temptation can be to just collapse after a long day, but if you take the time and make the effort to put half an hour into a simple dinner or to go for a jog, you’ll be thanking yourself for years to come.

So you’ve decided enough with packing lunch in a plastic grocery bag — it’s time to start adulting and choose from the list of best lunch boxes for men. And who can blame you? That recycled plastic bag barely makes it to the office, looks pathetic, and smashes up everything it carries.
A decent lunch box will not only look better, but it will also keep its contents neatly and safely organized. Also, any of our best lunch boxes for men will help keep your hot and cold food at their proper temperatures.
And if you are fortunate enough to live with someone who loves you, they will have the opportunity to slip a surprise or two into that lunch box that might improve your day.
Someone like me, who loves packing lunch box surprises, especially for my grandson. The best giggle (and embarrassment) I gave him was when I was visiting this past April Fool’s Day. Grandma decided it was going to be “inside-out” day. April Fools! I got up early and packed his lunch, an inside out cheese sandwich, dip in the Ziplock bag, and cut up veggies in the dip cup. Since I couldn’t figure out how to safely do inside out fruit, I quartered an orange, removed the seeds and replaced them with raisins, which he hates. Of course, I included a silly note to embarrass him even further. This grandma loves doing that sort of thing. And because he does have one of our best lunch boxes for men, everything stayed as I packed it. And what I heard when he got home from school was, “Grandma, really?” It still makes me smile.

If you love aerial photography, technology, and having fun, then chances are that owning and operating a drone like the one in this Tello drone review is probably something you’ve thought about doing. But with drones being tricky to operate, it’s no surprise why many drone lovers are intimidated to take flight.
Luckily, with all the options available today, comfortable drone operation has never been more possible. One such drone that has been leading the pack is the Tello drone. When you’re considering a Tello drone, review how it’s the perfect mix of power, control, and fun.
Tello Drone Review: Behind the Brand
Ryze Robotics is all about creating innovative gadgets that are fun for the whole family. This growing company was founded in Shenzhen, China, in 2017, and has quickly amassed a following for a good reason.
The brand’s mission is to create a fun, easy-to-operate drone for everyone, from young kids to teens and adults.
This mission is accomplished by the brand’s ability to merge the power of the respected DJI flight control system and an Intel processor with innovation and creativity to create a fun flying machine.
Depending on your skill level and needs, there are three different drones you can shop for from this brand. There is the Tello, the Tello Iron Man, and the Tello EDU. In the Tello drone review, we are going to focus on the Tello drone specifically.
Design
If it’s your first time purchasing a drone, then the construction of the Tello drone makes it a great option to go with. It’s small and lightweight, making it a great drone to practice with. In terms of the dimensions, you’ll find that the Tello drone measures out to 3.9 by 3.7 by 1.6 inches and weighs only 2.88 ounces.
The Tello drone is not as bulky as other drones on the market. And although it’s a beginner/intermediate level drone, you don’t have to be worried about a fragile construction. With the DJI technology used, you can look forward to quality craftsmanship that allows your Tello drone to be reliable.
The Tello drone features four propellers that provide you with a stable flight each time. And with the built-in camera, this stability becomes a need not just for performance but for practicality when you’re snapping images as well. After all, no one wants blurry, shaky shots.
Additionally, with the propellers, you can look forward to a propellor guard that not only protects the propellers but protects the user as well.
Overall, the unique construction and easy to operate transmitter allow the Tello drone to be one of the best drones to play with when it comes to learning to fly it in a short amount of time.
Tello Drone Review: What’s Inside?
When you purchase the Tello drone, you can look forward to using it right away. Each drone comes with a remote control, a built-in camera, the propellors, and one lithium polymer battery.
There is not much assembly required other than setting your drone up and then putting in the battery. It takes a mere couple of minutes to get your Tello drone out of the box and into the air.
As with any drone, there is a bit of a learning curve required to take flawless flights. The good news is that the Tello drone is known for having a small learning curve.
You can also fly your drone blind, as well, but it’s so much easier to connect it to your smartphone and fly it with eyes in the sky. If you’re going to connect it, it does require you to download an app that’s free of charge.
Performance
The Tello drone is known for offering users a fun and immersive experience. One of the ways it does this is by allowing users to take advantage of the VR headset compatibility.
Speaking of the image, the built-in 5-megapixel camera allows you to record both images and videos. You can snap JPEG images and record them at both 720p and MP4 videos.
When it comes to flying your Tello drone, there is plenty to look forward to. You can take advantage of the “Throw & Go” feature. This feature simply allows you to take flight even if you’re holding your drone. You don’t need to mess around with being on a flat surface or calibrating it before flight each time.
When it’s in the sky, you can look forward to flying it distances as high as 33 feet and as far as 328 feet. For new drone users, this is the perfect distance for getting your feet wet with controlling a drone while it’s in the air.
For the most part, you don’t have to worry about instability due to wind because of the height restriction. One drawback, however, is that flight time is limited to roughly 13 minutes on a full battery.
Lastly, because the brand Tello is all about having fun, your Tello drone can do neat tricks when it’s in the air.
Quality
With any Tello drone review, you’ll see that this drone consistently stands out for two reasons. Firstly, this drone is backed by the power of DJI. Its integration with DJI technology has allowed the Tello drone to stand out as far as quality goes.
You won’t be working with any cheap pieces of machinery here. From flying to capturing footage, the Tello drone can hold its own as a starter and intermediate level drone.
Secondly, the Tello drone is the gift that keeps on giving. In conjunction with the Tello app, users will be able to learn and create their moves and fly paths.
Coding lovers will appreciate that the Tello drone is programmable with Scratch, an MIT system that allows users to code their script.
This program, used in conjunction with the Tello drone, allows users to practice their coding skills as they can create unique flight paths. This is a neat feature that not many other drones can offer. Because of this, the Tello drone easily makes the perfect gift for any STEM lover.
How We Reviewed
While this Tello drone review has covered the basics, as well as some of the standout features that this drone can offer, you don’t have to take our word for it. Our Tello drone review was comprised of hundreds of reviews that satisfied customers have left on both the brand’s site as well as other drone forums. Because of the popularity of the Tello drone, it’s easily found its spot on our list of the best quadcopters.

The Tello drone is only as good as its competition. That’s why our Tello Drone review has done its due diligence in comparing it to some of the other competition out there. Below, we will go over three of the leading quadcopters that fall in the same class as the Tello drone.
Parrot Mambo is easy and safe to pilot. Battery lasting up to 10 minutes

Additionally, you can stream your footage on YouTube and Facebook Live as well. As of yet, this is the only mini drone that offers you this capability.
Performance
When it comes to the performance of this drone, there are three flying modes you can use. The Ease Mode, Drift Mode, and Race Mode allow you to find the right level of control so you can get used to flying your drone.
When you’re flying, users can look forward to 10 minutes of uninterrupted fun, which is slightly less than the Tello drone.

If you love taking aerial view photos and videos, the Hubsan X4 Quadcopter might help. This Hubsan X4 review will walk you through every detail about this drone, showing you whether it’s worthwhile. Overall, quadcopters have become reliable gadgets when it comes to capturing images. People no longer have to rely on heavy and capital-intensive planes to take pictures.
Quadcopters such as the Hubsan X4 107D have become a popular choice among beginner photographers and those who love flying gadgets. Best of all, it has a small and compact design, which makes it quite portable. But, those are just a few of its impressive features.
What is The Hubsan X4 Quadcopter?
The Hubsan X4 Quadcopter is a beginner-friendly first-person view (FPV) drone. It features an impressive design, and you can travel with it to any location you’d like. What’s more, it is quite affordable. That means that anyone working on a tight budget can still enjoy capturing images using this drone.
However, you must know that this drone doesn’t have an extended flight time. It can fly for up to seven minutes when you charge it fully. The drone also comes with a controller, which makes its maneuverability a seamless task. But, as a beginner, you might require some practice to get acquainted with how it’s operated.

This quadcopter has a lot to offer despite its size. So, don’t make the mistake of thinking it doesn’t have the benefits that come with other large and more expensive drones. In this Hubsan X4 review, you will learn about all the amazing benefits of flying this drone.
The Hubsan X4 H107D Quadcopter features a compact and lightweight design. It weighs 1.12 ounces, and it measures 3.9 by 3.9 by 1.2 inches. The manufacturer has built this drone to feature a unique design, which makes it stand out from most quadcopters in its category. It also features four propellers — two at the front and two at the back.
Moreover, the quadcopter features LED lights at the front and back sides to enhance visibility when it’s in the air. Also, the lights blink to warn you when the battery is running low. That notwithstanding, the Hubsan X4 comes with four propellers, which help to improve its stability in the air.
The drone also has a plastic body construction that enhances its lightweight design. Its compact design might make some people confuse it as a mere toy. The drone also lets you attach propeller guards, minimizing the risk of the propellers injuring someone.
Camera
We could not write this Hubsan X4 review without mentioning the camera specifications on this quadcopter. The drone is fitted with an HD camera, which has a resolution of 1280 x 720. That allows it to capture aerial images and videos effectively.
The camera is situated on the front side of the drone so that it can capture anything along its path. However, it is advisable to not fly the drone too far out of sight. Albeit, it doesn’t have such a long-range. When you fly the drone further than the specified range, there is a high likelihood that you’ll experience glitches.
Fortunately, the Hubsan X4 transmits the images you capture and footage you record to your controller. The controller has adequate settings, and you could even replay the videos you’ve recorded. It allows you to record images and videos onto an SD card. It can support MicroSD cards of up to 16 GB, and the memory card slot is built into the transmitter.
Controller
Another impressive feature that we could not fail to mention in this Hubsan X4 review is its controller. The controller gives you seamless control over your drone. Interestingly, the controller happens to be much larger than the Hubsan X4.
The controller is made of durable plastic, and it measures approximately 7.5 by 6.25 by 3 inches. However, it also features a lightweight design regardless of its size. The manufacturer has designed the X4’s controller to feature an ergonomic design so that it can fit in your hands comfortably.
It comes with a 4.3-inch LCD screen, and it transmits photos and videos through 5.8 GHz. You need to know that the screen has a relatively low resolution, but it has enough brightness to improve visibility. However, you may have some difficulty when you fly it under bright direct sunlight.
Subsequently, the controller is fitted with plenty of settings. You can access them from the on-screen menu to perform the action you’d like. Remember, the memory card slot of this drone is situated in the controller. Unfortunately, you have to purchase your memory card separately. The bigger the capacity, the better. But, remember it is only expandable to up to 16 GB.
Flight performance
The main purpose of getting a drone is to fly it around, capturing aerial photos and videos. However, the flight performance of the Hubsan X4 is relatively low compared to other drones. But it does the job adequately.
When doing our Hubsan X4 review, we figured that most beginners need some practice so that they can fly this drone comfortably. The X4 has a maximum flight time of seven minutes, and it can go to speeds of up to 10 miles per hour.
The drone uses a controller, which makes flying much easier. Its seamless flight performance is further enhanced by its Headless (IOC) flight mode. How so? This feature eliminates the need for a nose on this drone. That means that you can fly it in any direction you want — front or back.
But wait, there’s more. The Hubsan X4 H107D also features the latest six-axis flight control system. So, why is this feature so significant? Well, it gives you better control of your drone by improving stability and giving the drone a stronger wind resistance. Furthermore, the drone comes with the latest altitude hold technology, which delivers more stability for you to capture better images.
Battery life
The Hubsan X4 quadcopter also features a 380mAH battery, which supports its flying capabilities. When the battery is fully charged, it should deliver a flight time of about seven minutes. That said, you should not expect much concerning the battery life on this gadget. That’s why we recommend this Hubsan X4 review to drone novices.
However, do not get discouraged by the short battery life of this drone. Why? The flight time it delivers is exceptional, considering its size. Moreover, it performs better than a majority of quadcopters within its category.
When the battery on your drone is running low, the LED lights begin to flash, notifying you that it’s time to land your drone. Furthermore, the battery gives you about twenty seconds when the lights begin to flash, allowing you to land it. That eliminates the worry of your drone encountering further damage from crashing into obstacles.
Due to the short battery life of this drone, it’s recommendable that you get extra batteries. They wouldn’t cost you much. The quadcopter comes with a USB charging cable, and it takes about half an hour for the battery to charge fully.
Durability
It would be wrong for us to carry out this Hubsan X4 review and fail to mention its durability. Fortunately, the X4 is durable enough, and it can withstand several falls without facing severe damage.
That makes this drone perfect for beginner flyers. You can also add prop guards to your drone to enhance its durability. However, if the propellers get broken, you’ll need to replace them.

The Mini Drone also comes with a controller, but it doesn’t have an LCD screen. The camera is located on its front side, and the drone has an auto-hovering function that makes controlling it much easier. What’s more, it’s adjustable to three-level speeds, making it suitable for beginners.

Before you head out on the water, you may ask the question, do kayak paddles float? It’s an important question to ask as you need to know how careful you need to be with your paddles. If they float, you won’t have to worry about losing your propulsion device to the depths of the lake.
Although there isn’t a definitive answer here, it’s safe to say that nearly all kayak paddles will float. The buoyancy of the paddle depends on what it’s made from as well as a few other factors. However, despite a few exceptions, most kayak paddles to float.
What Are Kayak Paddles Made From?
Despite technological advancements and the development of several synthetic paddles, wood maintains its status as the most popular material for making paddles. Wood is aesthetically pleasing, has a natural flex, it’s light and strong
There is also a lot of variation in the weight of the paddles. This is because different types of wood have different weights. As a result, there can be significant differences in weight from paddle to paddle.
However, there are also synthetic paddles that have been developed over the last few decades. Generally, synthetic paddles fall into two categories.
The first category is the more cost-efficient option. These paddles have plastic blades and aluminum shafts. The most significant benefit of these paddles is that they are more durable. However, there are some significant downsides to these paddles.
Firstly, these paddles are usually heavy and stuff. The aluminum shafts can also get very cold or hot if they don’t have a sleeve. Most people keep these paddles as backups in case of emergency.
The other synthetic paddles are made from graphite and carbon. These materials make for incredibly light paddles, but they are more expensive.
Generally, you will want this type of paddle if you’re racing because they’re so light. However, you need to keep a firm grip because they’re so light that they can be blown away by a strong gust of wind. Furthermore, these paddles are very stiff, which makes for the most efficient paddling.
Why Do You Want Kayak Paddles to Float?
Although your first question might be, do kayak paddles float, you might also wonder why they must float. The significant reason for them to float is, so you don’t lose them.
When you’re out on the water, there’s a lot you need to be aware of. Are there other boats in the area, and is there any debris in the water you need to avoid? You also need to make sure you’re going in the right direction.
While you’re worrying about all those things, it might be easy to forget to keep a firm grip on the paddle. As a result, a strong gust of wind or a big wave could knock the paddle out of your hands. If the paddle were to sink, you’d be stranded in the middle of the lake.
Being in the middle of a lake without a paddle is not a situation you want to find yourself in. You’d have to try to paddle with your hands, which would take a long time. Or you would have to abandon the kayak and swim to shore.
Neither of these situations is ideal, which is why kayak manufacturers make paddles that float. This way, if you briefly lose control of your paddle, you can grab it out of the water without worry. Although these situations are rare, you’ll be thankful your paddle floats if this ever happens to you.
Difference Between Kayak and Canoe Paddles
For those who don’t know a lot about boating in general, they might not have known kayaks and canoes were different things. While they are similar, there are distinct differences between the two. Specifically, the paddles are very different.
Kayak paddles have a blade at both ends and are much longer. Additionally, kayakers will only use one paddle.
Canoe paddles only have a blade on one end, and they’re much shorter. Canoe paddles are basically kayak paddles that have been cut in half.
Kayaks are only equipped for one person to ride. However, canoes can fit one or two people. If two people ride in the canoe, they each will have a paddle, paddling on different sides.
If you ride in a canoe on your own, you use one paddle and alternate paddling on each side. Other than these differences, the paddles are basically the same.
What Do You Need to Start Kayaking as a Beginner?
The first thing you need if you’re going to start kayaking is the kayak. There are several different types of kayaks, including kayaks, that don’t have a cockpit. However, as a beginner, you’ll want a simple recreational boat.
These kayaks will have large kayaks that are easy to climb in and out of. Some of them are also equipped with a foot pedal that operates a rudder. This is useful if the water is unusually choppy.
Now that we’ve answered the question, “Do kayak paddles float?” we can get into which paddle you should choose as a beginner. The first thing you need to remember is that the taller the person, the taller the paddle you’ll need. Typically, you will want a paddle that’s between 210 and 260 centimeters long.
You should also wear a life jacket in case you fall out of the boat. Even good swimmers might panic when they fall out of a boat, so having a life jacket is essential.
Additionally, now that we know the answer to the questions, do kayak paddles float is yes, we can say that if you do fall out, you can hold onto your paddle for a little extra buoyancy.
Furthermore, you’ll want to wear a helmet as a beginner. It’s easy to lose track of your paddle and hit yourself in the head as a beginner. A helmet will keep you from concussing yourself in this situation.
Safety Tips for Kayaking
Although you might not think it, kayaking is one of the most dangerous recreational activities that you can partake in. This is because you are out on open water, and when water is involved, there’s always a risk. However, as long as you take the proper precautions, you’ll never have a problem.
Firstly, you should always consider the weather before heading out on the water. When the weather’s terrible, there will be more waves. This will increase the chance of your kayak capsizing.
You should also invest in the proper clothing, depending on your climate. If you’re in a warm environment, you don’t need to worry too much about clothing. All you need to protect yourself from the sun is to wear some sunscreen.
However, if you’re kayaking in the cold, you should wear a wetsuit in case you fall in the water. A wetsuit will keep you from getting hypothermia after falling in frigid water.
You also need to be aware of how windy it is. This isn’t as important when you’re kayaking on a lake, but if you’re on the ocean, it can make it very difficult to return to shore. It will increase the size of the waves and increase the strength of the current.
It’s also essential to follow the boating rules in your area. The rules are there to keep you safe, and failing to follow the rules could result in an injury to you or someone else. You should also every consume drugs or alcohol while kayaking.
The most important thing to remember is always to wear your life jacket. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been kayaking for a decade or more, you should always wear your life jacket. You never know when it’ll save your life.

Now that summer’s over, it’s time to start thinking about closing down your pool for the winter. There are a few tasks that you must perform to make sure that your pool remains healthy even during the off-season. You should clean the pool water and add winter chemicals. But you have to cover your pool too. So let’s take a look at some of the best pool covers you can get this year.
Types of Pool Covers
While you’re searching for the best pool covers, there are a few types that you should know about.
Solar pool covers
Some of the best pool covers you can buy are solar pool covers. They are sometimes called bubble covers, and they are the least expensive type of cover. They work by absorbing the sun’s heat during the day, and they keep the heat from escaping during the night.
The best thing about them is that they heat your pool. They also reduce evaporation by up to 99 percent. The downside to them is that they are too lightweight to support your weight or even the weight of your pet.
Automatic pool covers
The next type of cover that you should be aware of when you’re searching for the best pool covers is the automatic pool cover. Just as the name suggests, these covers open and close automatically with the simple push of a button. They’re very safe and easy to use.

Winter pool covers are what you want if you are looking for the best pool covers for winter weather. Most people who use this type of cover completely close their pools during the winter months. But you can use them all year long.
The point of this type of cover is to keep out extreme cold temperatures, winds, and precipitation that could cause damage to your pool. The downside to them is that they require anchor points around your pool.
Hidden swimming pool covers
If you are focused on your pool’s aesthetics, then you will want to go with a hidden swimming pool cover. These covers are easy to install. And they come in automatic, semi-automatic, and manual, making them very easy to use.
