The game of cornhole is fairly simple and played with two sets of bags and two cornhole boards. You can have a single players or two-person team in match style or tournament play. The players take turns throwing bag filled with corn or beans at an angled platform with a 6” hole centered 9 inches from the top of the platform. The platforms are usually placed 33 feet apart. You can also bring them closer together if young children are playing or your space is too small. Each player gets to toss 4 bags in an inning from either side of the platform. You cannot cross foul line when tossing your bag. The foul line is the front of the platform on your side. You can throw from either the right or left side, but you must stay on that side throughout the inning. Points are scored by tossing the bag through the hole at the back of the platform (3 points) or landing on the platform (1 point). The match is won when you reach 21 points or more. Cornhole has grown from humble beginnings of throwing corn cobs in trash cans to the worldwide known version of the game we play today.
